After 12 long years and a German Executive Chef (Mike Wehrle), The Peninsula Manila Hotel re-joined the merry, crazy celebration of Oktoberfest!
Not to miss this chance of enjoying the company of friends and colleague and celebrate this well-loved German Beer Festival, Adolf & I trooped to Escolta, the main restaurant of The Peninsula Manila. We tasted German favorites like Knusprige Schweinshaxen (Crispy Pork Shank with beer gravy), Sauerbraten (Beef Pot Roast), Spatzle (creamy noodles) and delicious sausages – Kassler, Schuebling. Thueringer, among other dishes. The perfect complement to our meal is a tall, cold glass of Paulaner. I had the light lager while most of the men enjoyed the dark lager – in 3 liter mugs! One of our companions declared he could finish 8 of those 3 liter monsters in a single night! Wicked! No wonder Filipinos took Oktoberfest close to their hearts.
This fun Oktoberfest celebration happens until October 22 only! Don’t miss it! Prost!
